Property Buyers Investing in Portugal benefit from Local Agent's Extensive Experience
According to statistics produced by the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) for May/June 2007, Portugal is one of the most in-demand destinations in the worldwide property market.
"The Algarve is undoubtedly one of the country's hotspots," explains Valentim Costa, managing director of Urbinvest, a leading estate agent with more than 25 years experience of selling property in the Algarve. "We've noticed that an increasing number of people are choosing to invest in this area of the Portuguese property market."
Just a few hours flying time from the main European cities, the southernmost region of mainland Portugal is attracting buyers to its miles of golden, sandy beaches washed by the clear blue sea of the Atlantic Ocean.
"When people visit the Algarve, we often hear them use the term ‘paradise'," says Mr. Costa. "Those who are fortunate enough to discover the many attractions of this delightful area also comment on the friendliness of the local people and the beauty of the different seasons here."
The popularity of the region could also be attributed to the wide range of activities on offer, including tennis, horse-riding, shooting, fishing, scuba diving, waterskiing and windsurfing. The area has also been said to have some of the best golf courses in Europe.
"Apart from being a great place for those looking to buy a holiday home in the sun, at prices that seem too good to be true, the Algarve offers amenities that are simply fantastic," explains Mr. Costa. "Our aim at Urbinvest is to help people find their own piece of this Portuguese paradise."
Indeed, the company offers clients a complete package, including step-by-step assistance with the buying process, legal advice and full support after the sale has gone through.
"We provide a full range of services including financial advice, covering such factors as insurance and taxation," says Mr. Costa. "We can also act as a mediator between buyers and, for example, construction companies, decorators, and so on."
The company is Portuguese-owned and has various offices covering the Algarve, with both local Portuguese and English staff.
"Because our first priority is our clients, we have a dedicated team of salespeople and administrative staff to provide assistance every step of the way," explains Mr. Costa. "The team is also supported by prestigious solicitors, architects, engineers and other professionals in real estate, who provide comprehensive advice in order to help clients find the very best property investment."
Given that Mr. Costa was one of the first members of APEMI (The Portuguese Association of Government Licensed Estate Agents) and now has over 25 years experience in the property industry, it is not hard to see why Urbinvest has a firm foothold in the Portuguese property market.
"I started working in real estate in 1980 in Quarteira promoting and selling residential and leisure property in the Algarve, the main areas being Vilamoura, Quinta do Lago, Vale do Lobo, Quarteira, Boliqueime and Loulé," says Mr. Costa. "Since the Urbinvest trademark was approved in 1981, the business has gone from strength to strength. We started to expand from the sale of retail and residential properties, to selling plots of land, offices and commercial areas."
Urbinvest has created a large network of agents over the years, supported by various branches and numerous national and international representatives. The company is proud to offer buyers a comprehensive, friendly service when purchasing property in the Algarve.
"We are committed to giving clients the best possible buying experience, not only through our professionalism, but also through our wide range of properties which have been carefully selected to provide key investment opportunities," Mr. Costa adds.
Urbinvest is a Government Licensed Estate Agent with more than 25 years experience of selling property in the Algarve.
