Special launch price available on latest phase of Caribbean resort

As Select Resorts – an associate office of Savills International, prepares to unveil Phase 3 of a new beachfront development in the Caribbean, a special launch price is being offered for buyers and investors who register their interest early, with savings in the region of USD $25,000 (approx. £15,100) available for the first 10 pre-reservations on Poolside Cottages.

The company will be hosting an open evening on Tuesday 30th June, between 5.30pm and 8pm, at Savills International, 20 Grosvenor Hill, Berkeley Square London W1K 3HQ in order to showcase the latest phase of the Ocean's Edge resort and answer any questions potential purchasers may have.

The luxury development, located on a beachfront site in Frigate Bay on the Caribbean island of St. Kitts, comprises 48 one bedroom Beachfront Apartments, 8 two bedroom Beachfront homes, 48 semi-detached Poolside Cottages, 66 two bedroom Hillside Apartments and 23 hilltop plots for private, bespoke villas.

"Construction at Ocean's Edge is already well underway, with completed Hillside apartments already handed over to happy owners and available for rent," explains Pauline Bonanni, the managing director of Select Resorts.

"We're delighted to be able to offer more buyers the chance to invest in this project as it enters Phase 3. Not only are we offering a special discounted price but purchasers making a minimum investment of USD $350,000 (approx. £211,600) in a unit or a villa plot will be entitled to apply for Citizenship of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis."

The benefits of the citizenship package include: citizenship for life for the applicant and eligible family members; the applicant is not required to reside in St Kitts; dual citizenship is permitted; passports are issued to successful applicants and any eligible dependants; visa-free travel to a number of counties including European Schengen countries from early 2009; full residency status; tax-free status on foreign income, capital gains, gift, wealth and inheritance tax and the right to work in St. Kitts.

"Anyone who purchases a property at Ocean's Edge will also benefit from a comprehensive property management programme as well as maintenance and concierge services. In addition, owners can choose to participate in a rental programme," continues Mrs. Bonanni.

"This means investors can take advantage of St. Kitts' burgeoning tourism industry which the government is committed to developing as the primary component of its economic growth strategy. The plan focuses on sustainable expansion as part of a move to make St. Kitts an upmarket destination."

The island's local infrastructure has reportedly undergone considerable improvement, with ongoing projects including the $17 million Beaumont Racetrack, the $16 million Marine World, the $16 million expansion at Robert L Bradshaw International Airport and the $12 million Warner Park cricket stadium built to host the Cricket World Cup of 2007 which took place across 10 Caribbean islands including St. Kitts.

"St. Kitts and Nevis combine a favourable tax regime with a safe environment and Ocean's Edge represents an unprecedented opportunity to invest in an island whose property market is expected to show substantial appreciation in the near future," says Mrs. Bonanni.
