Recent research has revealed that Spain remains the number one destination for Britons buying property abroad.
The British press may well have been intent on talking down the Spanish property market, yet it appears that Spain refuses to be beaten in the popularity stakes having kept a firm grip on the top spot when it comes to the most popular overseas destination for Brits purchasing property abroad.
According to recent research carried out by 'A Place In The Sun' magazine, Spain has again successfully fought off competition from other property hotspots, including France and Portugal, (which came in second and third place respectively), to maintain its long-standing reputation when it comes to global property investment.
Victor Sagué, sales and marketing director for Taylor Woodrow de España - the British housebuilder which is currently offering discounts of up to 25% on some of its developments in the Costa Blanca, Costa del Sol and Mallorca, said: "Obviously we're delighted that once again Spain has been chosen as the UK's favourite destination when it comes to buying a place in the sun, but we're not surprised. Where else can you enjoy a beautiful balmy climate, stunning beaches and scenery, affordable property and all for just a short low cost flight from the UK?
"Despite the negative stories in the press about property price crashes, land grabbing and cuts in budget airline routes, purchasers are clearly still voting with their feet. Whether you're looking to live near the beach, on a golf course or be immersed in the 'real' Spain, there's bound to be a home for you. We have a fantastic selection of developments in various regions across Spain, and with up to a quarter off prices we're making buying a dream home in the sun even more affordable."
