Villa in St Barts sells for a record £22.3m

A villa on St. Barts was recently sold for $39m (£22.3m), which is believed to be a record price for the French West Indies resort, according to the Herald Tribune in New York.

Located in a gated mountaintop community, Villa La Grande Maison des Etoiles is a seven-bedroom estate with ocean views, several pools and a fully equipped fitness room. Bedrooms are designed as tributes to famous designers such as Louis Vuitton and Hermes.

Disappointed prospective buyers who may have been interested in buying this property shouldn’t despair, as it is available to rent for around £100,000 per week!

A recent report by Knight Frank revealed that the super-prime international property market is growing increasingly divorced from the wider market – with strong performance – as the world’s wealthiest buyers are not generally affected by slowdowns and currency fluctuations.
