Location of Kollárova 14 in Prague is unique. The district of Karlín is situated just three kilometres east of the historic centre of Prague, on the southern bank of the river. Its western section is a buffer zone between the quarters of Praha 1 and Praha 8. Linear streets in this district extend out from Karlín Square (Karlínske namesti), at the centre of which stands the famous Church of SS Cyril and Methodius. Karlín boast a number of impressive streets with numerous examples of noteworthy architecture. Karlín is now home to Prague’s largest concentration of new, modern administrative buildings, which will soon be joined by mushrooming residential buildings. Kollárova 14 is surrounded by burgeoning trees and shrubs and is steeped in the historical atmosphere of Karlín. You will find yourself in an oasis in the city centre. The reconstruction of this part of the city began in 1993 when the Hilton was opened (initially being the Hotel Atrium) and the neighbouring International Centre of Commerce started operating. In the years that followed, a number of developers launched projects in the area, exploiting its attractiveness as a business district. As a result, Karlín is now one of Prague’s best established commercial quarters and is being targeted by investors as a residential zone. The administrative centres here include Palác Karlín, Corso Karlín (Real Estate Karlin Group), Danube House (Europolis Invest), the Mediatel building, and the headquarters of Unilever. Karlín also has a relatively large base of civic amenities, offering all the services you need. The nearness to the city centre is particularly important because of the range of cultural and sports events that are on offer here. One of the district’s major advantages is that, while it is close to the centre, it is also just around the corner from the D1 motorway. Public transport services are also excellent, Krizikova metro station is just 200 metres away from Kollárova 14, providing a direct connection to the city centre on Line B. This service is complemented by the tram routes which run along Sokolovská Street to the centre and other parts of Prague.
