It is a typical white-washed town with narrow streets interspersed with small plazas. As a small agricultural town it is surrounded by olive groves and orange and lemon orchards. bbThe origin of Albox is medieval and the remains of an ancient fort can be found o­n a nearby hill. In 1503 it was destroyed by an earthquake and many of its historical buildings were lost.
