The village of Ovcha Mogila is located in Central North Bulgaria, 35 kilometers south from the town of Svishtov and the Danube River. 2 kilometers away from the village is the international road I 3, which is a very important line of communications between Romania, Bulgaria and Greece.
The population of Ovcha Mogila is about 2000 people, most of them Orthodox Christians. Nearby the village's center is the church, which was built at the beginning of the 20th century and is a real cultural monument.
The village's national pride is the mineral spring, which is known to have healed many people of their locomotor’s system's problems. Based on this spring in the village was built a Sanatorium famous in the whole country.
The village offers all the basic utilities like Post-office, several pubs, cafes, shops, etc. There is also regular bus transport to the surrounding towns. A train station is available in the neighboring village of Morava.
