Paljakka is around 30 minutes drive on well maintained (Summer and Winter) and direct roadways from the airport at Kajaani and about 40 minutes from the busiest ski resort in the region (Voukatti).It has been commented by many inside Kainuu that Paljakka slopes actually offer the best skiing in the region and that it has only been lacking of marketing and services that have stunted substantial growth.
