Country Home in an Interesting Area
This is a nice manageable holiday home in a pleasant village where you can straight away get on with enjoying traditional village life, Bulgarian-style. In an area of outstanding natural beauty, popular with Bulgarians themselves, this is an area for sensible investment as well as a dream home.
Features
If you are looking for a house with minimal work, plenty of room with a nice garden, this could be a wise choice. Location is everything, and here you are in an up and coming village in some interesting terrain on the edge of the mountains. A maximum 30 minute drive in any direction takes you into some dramatically different landscapes, depending on your mood and what you might like to show your guests that day. Super!

The house is approached through a 1100m2 garden, square, level (ish) and walled in to stop the dogs wandering. At the moment the garden is grazed, by a donkey I think, so it’s far from a jungle – more of a blank canvas for your ideas. There is an outbuilding through which you can enter the house into a hallway. Off this are 3 large rooms, all with real wood floors, double glazing and period big wooden doors. Big windows give plenty of light and views of the village and hills beyond.
There are open wooden stairs up to a large loft area, plenty of height and possibilities to expand up here. Also wooden stairs down to the more rustic stone walled ‘mehana’ rooms, which give you plenty of options for moving the bathroom inside, maybe even the kitchen. So, including the connecting out-buildings, plenty of space here, without being too big a project. Water and electricity are connected, so just a bathroom inside to do – apart from that, just a small roof repair for peace of mind and the odd pane of small glass. DIY or we can organize things for you, pretty cheaply.
The village is lively, has a couple of shops and bars, is famous for it’s water supply, springs run all year in the town square and you are surrounded by lush countryside. No problems with internet either and only 7km to the useful town of Yablanitsa or 14 km to the train station in Roman. Unsurprisingly, it’s increasingly popular with Sofians and you might like to visit the capital regularly too for an exotic European cultural experience – either way it’s very handy for the airport!
