Montana is situated in North West Bulgaria, 45 km. away from the Danub river, and 35 km away from the city of Vraca. It dazzles winter visitors with its fantastic ice decorations. There are several breathtaking waterfalls, among which Skakalia waterfall- 140 meters high. The region provides excellent opportunities for hiking – it offers many other tracks an intimidating 400 meters high vertical wall, with more that 116 alpine tracks of level 4 difficulty. Another interesting tourist attraction is the Iskar Gorge – a spectacular canyon formed by the Iskar river. There is a small ski resort in the region – called Parshevica, where you can enjoy skiing during the winter. The region is also suitable for cycling, hunting, fishing and more.
