The small fishing village of Liopetri, otherwise known as Potamos Liopetriou, is a picturesque village located within an easy drive from Ayia Napa.
With a photogenic inlet where fishermen spend the day repairing their nets, before setting sail in the evening to go fishing. One of the best acclaimed seaside fish tavernas can be found in Liopetri.
The village has a variety of shops, traditional tavernas and other local amenities but the main places of interest include the remains of a Venetian watch tower, the medieval church of Panagia and the 15th century church of Agios Andronikos, which features an octagonal dome and an apse with lovely murals.
Liopetri is traditionally a potato-growing and fishing town, but the village is also renowned for its delicious wine and ancient traditional craft of basket making.
ATTRACTIONS:
Achna Dam - A rare glimpse on migratory birds such as the Glossy Ibis in March/April and October.
Potamos Liopetiou - Picturesque fishing harbour with some of the best fish restaurants on the island
Churches of interest - The medieval church of Panagia and the church of Agios Andronikos
