Marina was mentioned for the first time in the 13th century under the name Bosolji. In the 16th century Bishop of Trogir built a castle to protect his territory from the Osmanli invaders. Among many important historic monuments, some are preserved: coat of arms doors, St. John's Church and the Renaissance round tower. There is a Gothic Church of St. Luke in the vicinity. Hamlets of Marina have preserved rural heritage significance. Marina is a small tourist resort and a port, situated 12 km west from the historic town Trogir and 36 km from Split. There are sandy and pebble beaches, but you can find some deep shade under the pine trees and olive-groves. There are many taverns and restaurants offering fresh fish and quality homemade wines. If you are looking for cultural events or entertainment, you should visit nearby Trogir and Split or picturesque Primošten.
