Le Parc de la Tese is located in La Ciotat, a charming southern town by the sea in the Bouches du Rhone department. It is part of the metropolitan area of Marseille Provence and is located to the east of Marseille at an equal distance from Marseille and Toulon. ‘La Ciutat’ means in Occitan ‘the city’, and is well known for being the birthplace of motion pictures and of petanque. And Jean Lenoir invented the famous game of petanque in 1907. The old centre of the town was built in 15th century which result today in an extremely rich architectural heritage: Place de la liberte square from the revolution period, the Chapelle des Penitents Bleus, the church Notre Dame de l’Ascension on the old Port from the C16th and many others flourish the city. The surroundings of La Ciotat offers all the variations of a delightful coast, praised for its charms by Lamartine and by Stendhal, and captured by many painters, including Georges Braque. Rocks, creeks, cliffs and green valleys are part of the landscapes where the fragrances of the guarrigue blend with the perfumes of the great blue. The lively city offers all sorts of restaurants, bars and bistros.
