Peacefully located in the old village with magnificent panoramic views over olive groves to the sea and outer islands, this house has been designed to blend in with the existing village houses.

Built by a German Master builder who has spent over 20 years visiting the island the property has been costructed to German high insulation and low energy standards to keep the house warm in the winter and cool in the summer months. The builder intends to keep a house for his own family.

When the small development is completed the five houses plus a small chapel will enjoy ample space for owners and their guests to park, very unusual this close to the old village. There will also be a landscaped and well planted communal garden.

Access to the property is via a private shared road that will be paved upon completion of the project.

The 80 square metre house stands on its own private 151 square metre plot with mains electricity and water connected. All cables and pipes are concealed underground.

The main entrance door leads in to a spacious hallway with tiled floor.

The 2 x 1 m part tiled shower room with toilet, basin, storage cupboard and mirror has a shower cubicle with glass door. There are concealed lighting units in the ceiling.

From the ground floor a wide tiled staircase leads up to the living area.

The spacious living room and open plan kitchen: 6.4 x 5.4 m plus 3 x 1.4 m has a wonderful chestnut wooden beamed ceiling. The owner is planning to install a feature wood burning stove. There are windows on 3 sides, tiled floors and doors open on to the balcony. A feature of the room is a circular window above the balcony doors.

The kitchen area features part tiled walls and hand built storage units made on the island. There is a washing machine, dishwasher, cooker with extractor fan and a stainless steel sink. The fridge freezer can be purchased at extra cost.

The main front section of the first floor balcony measures 6 x 2 m. The balcony also wraps around both sides of the house providing shelter from the sun or winds if required. Here the views are as spectacular as those on the ground floor.

There is a 24 cubic metre reserve water tank (sterna) and a large storage room (apotheki) at basement level.

The house is heated by an eco-friendly system developed in Germany and consists of wall mounted heating panels. All windows and doors are double glazed and there are extremely high levels of insulation in the roof and walls.

This property is suitable for family holidays or as an all year round home. Its views are amassing but have to be seen to be believed.

This minimal maintenance house has been built to an exceptionally high standard and its village location provides shopping and tavernas within a few minutes walk.

The second property is presently under construction and will be slightly larger than the first; an early purchaser can design the inside themselves and choose tiles, bathroom fixtures and kitchen units.

Early inspection is recommended.

The nearest beaches are at Megalos Mourtias and Mikro Mourtias. Megalos Mourtias is a favourite among the inhabitants of the Old Village, as they can walk down to it using a signed footpath in about 15-20 minutes. It is also highly accessible by car and/or motorbike - approx 5 minutes.

The beach is covered with smooth white pebbles. In the sea you will find silky smooth sand. There is a gentle slope, the water gradually getting deeper. You can find shade under the beach umbrellas or under the olive trees that grow a few meters away from the sea???

There are 2 tavernas on the beach and a third on the road just a few metres from the beach. All sell fresh fish and traditionally Greek food.

Contrary to its busy ???Big brother??? the beach of Mikros Mourtias is a quiet beach with no facilities. The pebble beach is relatively small; there is a big patch of fine sand in the sea. The beach is encircled with rocky cliffs, creating breathtaking scenery. At the back of the beach are old olive trees where you can find good shade.

On its right end there is an old abandoned building that was once used by people living in the Old Village, when they wanted to visit the island of Skopelos.

Being so quiet and relatively isolated, the beach is sometimes proffered by nudists. It is also very likely that when visiting you might be the only people there, so it really feels sometimes like it is your own private beach!!!

The water at both beaches is crystal clear with a beautiful silky blue colour. In order to get the most out of your visit in any of the beaches in Alonissos, it is a good idea to bring a mask and a snorkel, so that you can enjoy the underwater beauty and colour display. Even those that are not snorkel enthusiasts should be prepared to be dazzled by the beauty of the underwater scenery of Alonissos.
