Rancho San Antonio is positioned between two national parks with views of the Tempisque River Basin as well as the Gulf of Nicoya. Rancho San Antonio is located just 4.8 miles Northeast of Nicoya, only a 5 minute drive from this city, 35 minutes from Samara Beach, and 50 minutes from Liberia International Airport. Nicoya is a town in Costa Rica's Guanacaste province, and one of its most important tourist zones. It serves as a transport hub to Guanacaste's beaches and national parks. According to the 2000 census, the city's population was 13,334 -- second only to Liberia in the province. The city is also the district seat of a cantn of the same name, which in 2000 had 20,945 residents. The town was built in an old colonial style, in the Cordillera Volcnica de Guanacaste. Agriculture and cattle form the backbone of the city's economy, as well as the province which surrounds it.
