House in Umbria, Italy
Features
The building is of particular historic and architectural interest due to its load bearing stonework and the way it is inserted into the city walls of the Medieval town of Monteleone d’Orvieto. The property is divided into four floors, the lower ground floor, the ground floor, the first and the second floors.
Up until only a few months ago it was used as an olive press to make olive oil but it is possible to change it’s use into a residential property, with an idea to divide it into six separate units. It measures approximately 650 sq mts (this is the gross measurement).
Repair State
In need of complete restoration.
Amenities
The property has mains water, electricity and telephone.
Land Registry Details

Potential Land Use
The property lends itself to being divided into six residential units each of which would measure approximately 90 sq mts.
Alternatively, it could be made into a tourist rental property with 20 bedrooms, or another hypothisis would be to retain the oil mill, reduce the production levels and open up a sales point where customers can taste the oil and purchase other quality agricultural products (wine, cheese, salami etc)
Location
Monteleone d'Orvieto rises up from the valley in all its splendour. With it’s thousands of years of history, it’s traditions, it’s natural beauty, it’s artistic and cultural heritage, it’s wonderful sense of life, fiery by name and nature (as it’s name suggests), this little city is full of surprises for the many visitors who discover it for the first time.
You can reach Monteleone via the A1 autostrada northwards from Rome and southwards from Florence. Leave the motorway at the Fabro junction and follow the SS71 – Umbro Casentinese for a short distance (approximately 9 kms).
If you are travelling from Perugia take the SR220 Pievaiola in the direction of Citta della Pieve, then follow the signs towards Piegaro and then you will arrive at Moneleone. If you are travelling from Tuscany (Siena district) go through either the city of Chiusi or Citta della Pieve, Monteleone being 18km and 7 kms away from them both respectively.
If you want to reach Monteleone d’Orvieto by train, there is a very convenient main line station at Fabro-Ficulle (approximately 9 kms away) which links the village to the whole of Italy or there is another railway station at Chiusi- Chianciano (15 kms).
