The property used to be a guard tower, which was part of the walls which surrounded the historic centre of Sarteano, and which dates from the 1400’s. This tower has had a variety of uses through the years.

Location
Sarteano, is an imprtant town both historically and because of it’s natural beauty. It is located on a high plain which stretches between the stunning Val d’Orcian and the Valdichiana.

The area where the town is situated has been inhabited for more than a millenium , as this region of Sarteano is rich with many interesting archeological treasures and the town itself houses some of the most important Etruscan tombs in Tuscany. A wonderful collection of the artifacts which have been discovered in this area are to be found in the Museo Etrusco in Sarteano.

The Medieval history of the town is evident in the Castle and many of the other most important architectural buildings in the town, as well as a large number of the churches.
