The village is situated Bourgas region (municipality Tsarevo) in the coastal area, about 10km away from the beach. It is just 25km away from the town of Tsarevo and 60km from Burgas city and the International Airport.
Until the Balkan War, it has mostly been inhabited by Greeks – fire dancers, who later on emigrated. After 1913 Bulgarian immigrants from Eastern Thrace settled in the village.
Original Greek houses have been preserved in the village. Around the village is Bulgaria`s oldest reserve - Silikosia, unique for the abundance of the Strandzhanska Zelenika, a splendid type of rhododendron, a protected plant that in Bulgaria can only be found in Strandzha and is considered a symbol of the mountain.
Tsarevo Municipality is situated in the most distant southeastern part of Bulgaria on the international highway Å-87, on the border with the Republic of Turkey. It occupies the Bulgarian part of the Seaside portion of Strandzha Mountain, which is divided along the Rezovska River valley by the state border between Bulgaria and Turkey.
Beautiful beaches and magnificent views attract many tourists.
