BRD1124 Nr Beganne Brittany
A rare and splendid south-west facing building plot of 3000m² in an elevated position, looking out over the magnificent valley of La Vilaine and having a panoramic view over the ancient wetlands with the impressive river Vilaine winding its way over the plain. The land is gently sloping towards the view and is almost entirely constructable without any limit to the size of the land built on; thus lending itself to perhaps being split into two building plots, if desired. The relevant soil study has been done for a four bed roomed family home. Access is via a rural tarmac lane, leading to a few quality country homes, in this very peaceful and natural setting.
Drained about twenty years ago, the ’marais’ is a unique place for lovers of walking and cycling with dozens of miles of crisscrossing tracks. For those keen sailors the Vilaine is a perfect place with the port of Foleux close by and, in the creek opposite the land, the possibility of a mooring.
The village of Beganne is only a mile and a half and the town of Allaire less than five miles. The historical town of Redon is only 15 minutes drive and from its inner port merchandise was distributed throughout the Morbihan on the famous Nantes-Brest canal system, still largely navigable. Access to the sea is via the picturesque mini ‘city’ of La Roche Bernard leading to the mouth of the estuary at Arzal, where a dam controls the river level, maintaining ideal sailing conditions. Forty minutes drive up the coast will find you in the medieval port of Vannes whilst less than an hour away to the south is the resort town of La Baule. A dozen golf clubs and three airports are within about an hours drive :Nantes, Rennes, and Lorient.
