Located just 12 km from Dalaman airport Sarigerme was almost unheard of until last year. This sleepy town has big plans and boasts one of the most beautiful beaches in Turkey. Sarigerme beach, which extends for almost four miles, has been designated as a National Park conservation area and has fantastic views and a lovely sea breeze most of the summer.
The town is still largely undeveloped with only a few small shops, restaurants and bars at present. It is set just 800m from the beach with a shuttle 'train' providing regular transport between the two. The brand new First Choice Pegasus hotel (see photos) now brings an additional 1000 people per week to the area and more hotels are scheduled for the near future. The government has given the go ahead for a golf course to be built between the beach and the town providing the only golf course for 200 miles! Construction of the Pine Bay Golf Course and Hotel has started this year and is expected to be completed in 2009.
