The village of Govedartsi is located at the beginning of the park zone of the ,,Rila,, National Park in the beautiful ,,Iskars valley,,.

It is situated near the ,,Cherni Iskars river,, at the foot of the Maliovitsa peak and only 70 km away from the Bulgarian capital-Sofia/just one hour drive along a picturesque canyon above the Iskar river and about 110 km from Bulgaria’s second largest city Plovdiv/ .

Iovchevo lake – a great place for picnics is situated near the village. Govedartsi is a central village in the ‘’Cherni Iskar’’river valley and is 1268 meters above sea level. The Govedartsi valley is strangely quiet and windless almost without mists and during the hot summer days there is always a slight breeze – the temperatures rarely rise above 25 oC. Snow falls from mid December until April.

The nearness of Govedartsi to the biggest mountain resort Borovets – 14km, the tourist mountain centre Maliovitsa -13km, the spacious forests, green meadows and ski-slopes nearby attract a lot of mountain and ski lovers. The nearest Borovets ski-run Yastrebets is about 9 km from Govedartsi. The resort is a favorite vacation spot for nature lovers. During the summer the mountain offers many entertainments such as horse-back ridding, fishing , hiking, climbing, cycling with the help of experienced guides. Govedartsi has it’s own ski-run- 1600 meters long.

The town of Gorna Banya lies 32km from Govedartsi. An 18-hole golf course is currently under construction there. The golf course was designed by the son of the famous golf designer Jack Nicklaus.
There is also a private airport nearby where with the help of professional pilots one can fly for pleasure.

Five kilometers away from Beli Iskar, which is part of the Super Borovets project (tourist localization -Samokov-Borovets-Beli Iskar ) makes Govedartsi an excellent tourist destination and good investment.
