Kalives a beach resort and small town, with all its shopping amenities, school, banks, chemists, super markets, post office, coffee shops, tavernas and entertainment, is a town which does not die down in winter but is alive and bustling with some of the tavernas and coffee shops remaining open until after 11:30pm. at night.
The national highway is only about 3.5km from Neo Chorio giving quick access to the port city of Chania with its national airport and general hospital. (Hospital only 15 minutes drive away on the highway).
