Built in the mid eighteenth century by The Marquis de L’Aigle replacing a former 17th Century Chateau and standing on the original site of an eleventh century monastery stands ‘The Chateau Du Francport’

Features

Since the 1970’s, the French government has been promoting the leaseback schemes to increase the quantity and quality of holiday accommodation available to tourists. This unique scheme enables the discerning investor an efficient method of being able to purchase a luxury hotel suite in their own chateau in France. The scheme allows for the hotel suite to be leased back to the hotel for rental, which in turn generates either a guaranteed return for the investor or an occupancy driven return on their investment. We offer an excellent investment opportunity to own a freehold Suite at the Chateau du Francport in Compiegne, just north of Paris.

Famed for its superb hunting it became a regular favorite of Napoleon III who used the Chateau as his ‘Hunting Lodge’. The Chateau was extended and refurbished by the original owning family into the twentieth century. Situated just 800 metres from the location of the signing of ‘The Armistice' in 1918 and once again in 1940 with the fall of France. The Chateau is considered a national monument, Indeed, it was erroneously reported (with illustrations!) that the Armistice was signed in the grand hall of The Chateau rather than in the railway carriage by L’Excelsior newspaper. The journalist knew the agreement was signed nearby and could only imagine it happened at the chateau! The Chateau was used by The Major-General of The Luftwaffe during WW11 and ransacked on their retreat. It was beautifully restored, converted and successfully run as a luxury 74 suite hotel in the late nineties until a dispute with the tenants left The Chateau empty and unguarded for five years. Now once again being refurbished and scheduled to open in 2008 ‘The Chateau Du Francport’ offers you the opportunity to share in its success by participating in its ‘Suite Ownership Purchase Scheme’
