Features
The Estate is situated to the south of Pisa in Tuscany, on the hills of the northern part of Maremma. The name of the estate "Consalvo" derived from the name of the ancient owner, a Spanish general named Consalvo da Cordova, who fought and won battles for the King of Spain, Ferdinando II, at the end of the fifteenth century.
The total area of the estate is 284 hectares (700 acres) of which 3,100 m2 is floor area. Consalvo is between two rivers: Cornia and Massera. The hilly area of the estate is partly covered with Mediterranean woodland while the mild climate is perfect for vineyards: the whole area of Val di Cornia has obtained the mark "Controlled Denomination of Origin" (D.O.C.) for the wine produced here. The flat lands of the estate stretch between the hills and the rivers. On the estate, at the confluence of the two rivers (Cornia, Massera) there is the possibility to exploit a rich gravel bed.
On the flat lands of Consalvo, along the river Cornia, there is a 1000 m. long grassy airstrip. Aircraft of more than 6,000 kg. can land there. Beside the airstrip there is an aircraft hanger which can hold up to 2 aircraft.
Consalvo is an agritouristic and hunting estate, ideal for hunting wild boar and various species of birds. The estate, located in the Monteverdi municipality area, has permission from the Development Planning Scheme for the creation of a golf club and 27 hole course, along with a 20,000 m2 residential area on the estate.
The sea and famous coastal resorts like Punta Ala, Follonica, S.Vincenzo, Donoratico and Baratti Gulf are all about 20 Km away.
