The Fahle development is an architecturally impressive reconstruction of a former paper factory which will offer both residential and office space. The building itself is visually striking with thick limestone walls, an old mill tower and a modern glass extension. Contemporary reconstructions of industrial buildings are not only fashionable, (think Tate Modern), but also practical.

The interior of the building will be finished in a contemporary style in two stages, both scheduled to be completed in 2006. The residents of Fahle will enjoy thoughtfully designed apartments which come in a choice of four interior styles: Classic, Elegance, Sensitive and Studio. The flats are finished with natural materials including African slate, ceramic tile, and oak parquet and all are lit with plenty of natural light.

The development is named after the factory’s well-known former owner, Emil Fahle, who was one of the most influential industrialists of the first Estonian Republic.
