After following the tree-lined shores of beautiful Lake Iskar for around 20km from Sofia towards Samokov, the first village you come to just off the highway is called Zlokuchene; the home of Rila View.
Dominating the pretty village square, Rila View is situated on the site of the former village school which has been replaced with more modern facilities in the nearby city of Samokov (10km). Overlooking the Village Hall and church, Rila View is going to be the tourist focus of this location which boasts fast access to both the south shores of Lake Iskar and its new water sports facilities during the summer and the heart of the “Super Borovets” scheme (Samokov) for the winter season in less than ten minutes drive!
Being so close to Sofia has its advantages to not least of which that it only takes around 45 minutes to transfer from Sofia’s new airport to Rila View compared to 4 hours plus it can take to get to other lower altitude ski resorts such as Bansko. Close proximity to the capital also virtually guarantees a high summer foot-fall as Sofia’s elite head out of the summer heat of the city for the cooler mountain climate.
The local municipality has also learnt from the mistakes made in Bansko regarding planning and over construction. Due to the “Super Borovets” scheme, there has been a virtual building ban in the surrounding area. This means that new-build property in this area is virtually impossible to buy and even harder to find for rent.

To the front of the site, before the views of the impressive white caps of the Rila Mountains appear, is a fast flowing, shallow river (Iskar) which feeds the mighty lake to the north.
Views of Borovets existing ski runs are possible on all but the rarest of grey days and there is no danger of these views ever being interrupted due to the height and position of the site.
