Surrounded on 3 sides by fields, Le Reposoir stands in grounds of 0.75 of an acre in the Calvados Departement in the heart of the Normandy countryside. The air is fresh and clean, the night sky is jet black, unaffected by streetlights, and almost the only sounds are those of farm animals. The nearest village, La Vacquerie, is about a mile away (no facilities) and the small town of Caumont L'Evente, well-known for its "Souterroscope", is less than 10 minutes by car. The house is convenient for Caen (40 minutes), Bayeux (30 minutes), St. Lo (20 minutes), the Normandy Landing Beaches (45 minutes), Cherbourg (80 minutes), Mont St. Michel (under 2 hours) and Paris (under 3 hours). If you arrive at other entry points, Le Havre is about 2 hours away and Calais and the Channel Tunnel about 4.5 hours. The interior of the house is decorated to a high standard. On the ground floor the accommodation comprises square entrance hall; large L-shaped lounge/dining room with 2 pairs of French windows, beamed ceiling and open log fire; dining kitchen; bathroom with bath, shower, washbasin and bidet, and separate WC. Upstairs there are 3 large bedrooms (2 double and 1 twin); bathroom with corner bath, shower, bidet and WC and a long landing. Equipment in the house includes full-size electric cooker, washing machine, dishwasher, tumble-dryer, fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster etc. There is also a colour TV and a music centre with tapes and CDs, plus jigsaws, books and games. The large garden has garden furniture comprising table, chairs and umbrella, and there is a BBQ.
